We WILL be celebrating Hallowe’en at school on Friday, and we will implement health and safety protocols in the ways we celebrate. For the information of parents, here are some of the guidelines we will be following and that parents can keep in mind as we ensure that classroom celebrations are safe, as well as fun. Recommendations for safe Hallowe’en celebrations at school can be found here.
Costumes
- Students are encouraged to integrate a non-medical mask into their costume
that covers their nose and mouth - make sure masks allow students to breathe & see well
- not to wear a costume mask over a non-medical mask
- weapons (even toy weapns) should not be part of school costumes
- costumes are not to include accessories that might be passed around
Treats & Goodies in Class
- We appreciate parents’ generosity, but sending treats from home to share will not be permitted this year. Students may bring their own snacks for themselves but not for sharing.
- Any treats provided by the school / PAC will be individually wrapped & handed out in ways that minimize contact and maximize physical distancing
- Students will wash hands before and after handling treats
Celebrations
- will be kept within learning groups
- will use outdoor spaces when possible.
- will include a virtual costume parade shared over video within the school
