Important information about the upcoming school year:
Tuesday, September 8th: 9 – 10 am – On our first day of school, former students report to their last year’s classrooms and new students will meet in the library. Kindergarten students do not attend this day.
While families are waiting for their children, we welcome families to join us for a ‘Back to School Welcome’ in the gym for some refreshments with our PAC.
Students will remain in their previous years classroom for the rest of the week.
School Supplies
A detailed school supply list will be shared in September once homeroom classes have been established.
We recognize that many families take advantage of summer sales. If you choose to purchase supplies in advance, Click on 2026-27 School Supply List to view the list. No school supplies will be needed for students for the first week of school.
Hot Lunch Program
The hot lunch program will start on Wednesday September 9th, 2026. If you are interested in signing up for the program, please sign up through School Cash

We wanted to take a moment to remind you about how the Burnaby School District shares weather-related school closures.
How are decisions made? All schools will remain OPEN unless there is heavy snowfall, damage, or other circumstances – such as a power outage – that make it impossible to open for instruction.
When will I know? We do our best to communicate school or district-wide CLOSURES by 6:30am.
Please note that no announcement will be made that schools are open, except under extreme circumstances.
How will I know? The information about closures will typically be posted on both the District website (www.burnabyschools.ca) and X/Twitter account (@BurnabySchools). However, please keep in mind that there may be situations where this is not possible, such as a power outage. Another way to learn about school closures is through local news stations (online, radio, and TV). Generally, only closures or delays are announced.
You can learn more on the Burnaby School District website here: https://burnabyschools.ca/weather-related-school-closures/
BC Wet Coast Weather Reminder. Parents please ensure your child/ren have weather appropriate clothing as at recess and lunch all students go outside – rain or shine or snow.
To be completely prepared for wet-weather outdoor time, it is important for your child/ren to have appropriate clothing such as:
Severe weather accommodations. We occasionally have weather conditions that are unreasonable to expect students to stay outside in. These days include hard, driving rain with extreme cold or wind. In these situations, we intend to declare it an inside day. This will be decided by the principal on a case-by-case basis; however, students are still expected to come to school completely prepared for outdoor play time and should not come to school expecting to be inside during recess and lunch.
